How to create a Blogger Custom Redirect, Each blog article is usually made interlinked between one writing and another relevant article to support the information provided.
Links can also come from outside from other blogs that make one of our writings as a reference to the information made in their blog.
But if at some point we forget or accidentally delete an article, every time we visit that address, an error will occur which usually goes to page 404.
In order not to make an error, we must redirect it to the correct page or to another page.
How to know if there is an error link?
Sometimes we are not aware of the existence of a ling error or broken link on our blog, until one day a colleague informs us of it.
But actually we can take the initiative to check it ourselves with the help of a backlink checker site or diligently check the condition of the blog from the information in Google Webmaster Tool.
If you find a link error report on your blog, you can make improvements by changing the link of the article in question to match the link address indexed by Google.
Or redirect the error link to the real page or to another page that is more relevant to you.
How to make a Blogger Custom Redirect
- Login to your Blogger account then go to the Settings menu > Search preferences and go to the Errors and redirects menuthen make changes to the custom redirect.
- Next enter the URL which is a broken link on your website page. And enter the address you want to go to
- Just enter the link in the column provided, not the full url. Enter a link from a forward slash after .com
- For example, if there is an error link on your web page with the address at ....
- script-dl.blogspot.com/2022/08/fwd-without-judul.html
- then what is written in the column is only .. .
- /2022/04/fwd-without-title.html only
Likewise for the To column, just fill in the link. If so, save changes.
You must fill in both columns ( From and To columns ) so that your changes can be saved.
Done, don't forget to mark it as fixed on the webmaster tools page so Google knows you've fixed it.
To find out the health of your site, webmaster tools are highly recommended to monitor the condition of the site you manage.
Besides being free, this tool made by Google is also reliable enough to find out the index status, errors on the blog including broken links 404.
Well, at least for beginners like me, free tools like GWT are enough, because if you pay, you can't pay hehehehe. Hope it is useful.
